Yi’s report – Law and order

Having a big population, China has many transport problems, the most serious one of which is drunken driving. During the past two decades, with the proliferation of the private cars, the number of traffic accidents increase sharply, the main cause of this phenomenon is that people drive after drinking. However, there was not a strict traffic rules to punish those who drunken driving until this year. New traffic regulations have been carried out on First of April, which is more specific on the drunken driving and new punishment measures will be strictly enforced on the drivers who violate these new regulations. Having got a drive license, in China, the drivers have some score which can judge a person if he or she has ability to drive on the road, and the score is 12 in total. However, the drivers who drive after drinking will lose all of the score, which means this driver have to sit test for driver’s license next year. In my opinion, implementing the regulations strictly can reduce the possibility of traffic accidents effectively.

  1. I agree that people need to toughen up on drink-driving.

It shocks me how people in NZ are convicted for it and then they go back out and do it again and again. I reckon they should take their cars off them and stick them in one of those big car crushers. Make them walk I say!
