The one of the most important things of law and order in Korea is that if I should compare to other countries, arrest rate in Korea is pretty higher. In my opinion, there are some noticeable reasons.
Firstly, the base of police system has organized very well, which means that they have our all of the individual records, such as fingerprints, family register and etc. When we are 18 years old, we have to make our National Identity Card, which is supposed to get our personal and biological things.
Also, having developed IT industry in Korea, we have lots of advantages. When they are investigating some difficult case, they have help from the technological development very often. It causes better the public peace and order. However, it has sometimes suggested that they need to take charge of our records more carefully in case it can be used in a bad way.
Hi Emily,
ReplyDeleteDo you mean that all Koreans have to provide their fingerprints for police records? How interesting. (If so, at what age is this done?)

It has sometimes been suggested.
Also, 'the' arrest rate in Korea / 'the' IT industry in Korea - you need a definite article because it is specific to Korea.
