luffy

Actually I am a vulgar man, even though my major had little contact with art in university. Art is absolutely unsuited to me, as a result, I gave up learning any lessons in university but at last I still graduated. As this photo shows, my major is cartoon design, my personal position is that this countenance is so cute and in place. It’s really tranquil and figurative; nevertheless it’s simple and monochrome. The word means “not matter”, what I mean is that the countenance expresses the real mood that the painter wants to express, it’s stunning. And interestingly, the painter cannot draw any other things, as well as a banana.

The King of Kowloon-Tsang Tsou Choi

Tsang Tsou Choi is one of my all-time favourites in Hong Kong. I am sure that all of the Hong Kongers know his name and his story. His printing is monochrome because he just used the Chinese ink to finish his art work.  It is really stunning and plain, we can know his meaning though his words. This painting is really striking, it can draw my attention.

Actually, the painter was a crazy man who had mental problems. He used to print his graffiti in the column so policemen caught him over 50 times. He thought he was the king and had a power to manage this area.  It is the reason why he called the King of Kowloon. For your information, Kowloon is a busy place in Hong Kong. Although his art is full of the dull Chinese words, there is a story about how he can manage Hong Kong with his special hand-writing. He died in 2007, many organizations donated the money for him to hold the exhibition.

One of my favourites ~ by Vicki

There is a piece of art which I am quite into is an oil painting by a friend of mine who is an amateur painter. The painting caught my eyes when I first saw it hung on the wall in her house, and what impressed me most is its composition and colour, which showed me that she painted with bold strokes of the brush.
Some of her friends might think her work is a bit disturbing due to a gloomy expression of the two characters . To me, however, this painting is simply stunning and to my taste. Her paintings, as she described, usually reflected her personal experience and her inner soul, which revealed how she felt about an intimate but intense relationships with her significant ones. No wonder I found there is not only boldness in her work, but also some emotional or sexual arousal. Well, I think that’s why it’s my cup of tea.  LOL

Dance at Moulin Rouge by Eric

Toulouse Lautrec is definitely one of my all-time favourites. He captured in his paintings the Parisian passion for the bohemian life pleasures during the nineteenth century. The vibrant colors, the composición of elements sourrounding an especific action may transport us back in time, it’s definetely my cup of tea!

Moreover, besides its aesthetic value when one looks at his work you can learn about the clothing, the Architecture, and how people celebrate life.

Particuraly in this painting "Dance at Moulin Rouge" i find very interesting how Lautrec represents the very moment when the dancer appears on stage. There is a permanent feeling of excitement masterly defined by the body gestures of the characters and the expectation from the audience. I'm really into his work.

The visual effect of colors have a powerful psicological effect in the whole concept (just have a little look at the man in red at rigth hand side) and nothing to tell about the great use of ligh and shadow to express the effect of images in motion.

the peruvian flamingo

The Flamingo with its exotic appereance is a bird 1 to 1.40 meters height, long skinny neck and legs, black beak, white-pinkish body and red wings.Symbolically this bird stands for kindness and positive traits of character.
As they live in flocks, flamingos also denote sociability and sense of community. Actually during the time i visited its santuary they seemed to be tame but not enough to be touched by a human being.
Funnily they often stand on one leg, the other hidden beneath the body. It has been suggested the reason for this strange behaviour is that flamingos have the ability to go with have half of its body into a state of sleep, and when one side is rested, the flamingo will swap legs and then let the other half sleep. Perhaps also standing on one leg may allow the birds to conserve more body heat, given that they spend a significant amount of time wading in cold water. Interestingly Flamingos can both swim, and fly.
There’s an historical fact that depicts a vision of General Don Jose de San Martin (first president of Peru in its former times as an Independant Republic) who forsee the nacional flag of my country inspired in the red and white of this graceful bird.
Today flamingo populations are in danger to could undergo a rapid decline in their populations, since they live in large groups in concentrated numbers in fragile wetland habitats that could easily become polluted or fragmented.

Girl with a Pearl Earring - Jin

The painting I like best is called “Girl with a Pearl Earring”. To be honest, the thing which appealed to me at the beginning was a movie with the same name. However,no sooner did I see the painting in the movie than I was really into it. The reason is that I’d prefer to figurative painting rather than abstract one. Furthermore, due to the black background, the girl in the painting stands out immediately and attracts your attention. Meanwhile it can makes you calm and tranquil as well.

It was painted by Johannes Vermeer whose art path was as same as some renowned artists: when he was alive, no one understood him and he was poor even in debt. After hundreds of years, his intelligence was discovered by the human race and almost every works is respected as the masterpiece.

To a certain extent, this painting is similar to “Mona Lisa Smile”. However, “girl with a pearl earring” is my cup of tea.

Emily - a piece of art what I like.

Andrew Warhola whose more well-known name is Andy Warhole is one of my favourite artists. I tend to prefer colourful and figurative paintings and his works are really my taste as a result.

The painting is one of the most famous his paintings. Even though it is thought so simple and less stunning, in my opinion that is the most important feature. Also, why I am a big fan of his stuff is that while I am looking at his paintings, I do not have to too much think to understand what the artist is saying through the painting, which means that I can enjoy his works easily and comfortably.

special building in Hong Kong- Chek Lap Kok Terminal

Hong Kong Airport is located in Lantau Island which is near the Hong Kong Disneyland. It is the biggest covered structure in the world. Completed in 1998, it took around 9 years from start to end and cost US$20 million.
In terms of the construction, environmental protection was the main idea. Glass is their cover materials which can though the sunlight directly rather than electric light during the day time. This airport is considerably better than other international airports by virtue of the fact that visitors go to city only to take around 20minutes by the airport express.
There are many facilities and entertainment in the arrival hall which are cinema, hotel, lounge, duty free shop, restaurants and so on. On the other hand, shopping outlet is indispensable part of visitors travelling. Not only do travelers take 5 minutes by bus to go shopping conveniently, but they also enjoy the cheaper price of the brand products. In addition, most of the foreigner can get through the Hong Kong immigration without VISA.This is one of the reasons why passengers choose this airport to transit.

Chinese Pink dolphin in Hong Kong

Chinese Pink dolphin is one of the icons to represent Hong Kong. It is a mammal and looks like a large fish with a pointed mouth. In general, their bodies are grey or blue but Hong Kong dolphins have a special pink body. It is not easy to see them, which depend on the weather, temperature and your fortune.
Intelligent and friendly are their personalities so there is a famous theme park in Hong Kong which chose dolphin to be performers. Provided training lessons for them, dolphins can be truly tame.
Everyone knows that air and water pollution are the serious problems in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, sea is dolphin’s natural habitat. Their life is obviously in danger. All of the Hong Kong residents must obey the rules and regulations, they cannot dump of raw sewage and throw pollutants in the sea.

Zairan

The argument of using animals in experiments or not is becoming more and more popular recently.
In some people`s opinion, the behavior of animals testing in experiments is an absolute brutality. They think the animals are on an equality with human beings, which are all the God created to live,so the human have no rights to hurt them.
But in other people`s opinion, the testing animals may be necessary. We could`t test  people in experiment. And the procedure is essential element of any medical program or we could`t use the production in human beings directly.
In my point, I think the '3R' method is the best choice. The 3R method means Reduction,Refinement and Replacement.Reduction means that uses fewer and fewer living animals in experiment. Refinement means reduce the harm to animals caused by inhuman procedure. And the replacement means that the experimental materials use the cell or some other no-feeling inferior animals. The method is the trend in this section. Animal testing may be necessary, but we need to be be merciful.

The Arabian horse

By and large , the Arabian horse is the most beautiful horse in the world. Despite the fact that it is so expensive , many people have it such a lovely pet or to use it in racing ,where the winner get a great price like $ 500000 and a new car or something like that . if you had an Arabian horse , you would be a millionaire in a few months in Saudi Arabia or The UAE.  Also, It is one of the oldest horse breeds, with archaeological evidence of horses that resemble modern Arabians dating back 4,500 years.

animal testing - Jin

In recent years, animal testing has caused many arguments. While scientists take this as a necessary process to test new medical techniques and drugs, some people believe it is too cruel for animals.
As far as I am concerned, I approve animal testing. Before used by human being, drugs should be tested by some animals which have similar physical processes to us. At first this can reduce the side effects of using drugs on people without any testing procedures. Moreover, compared with other creatures, some kinds of animals such as white mice and monkeys are easy to breed which means testing on them will not cost highly.
In spite of the advantages mentioned above, on the other hand, we should take measures to strengthen managements of animal testing as well as set standards for animal treatment on the grounds that animals are living in the earth with us as one of our companions, we should respect them for what they have done for us.

The Brown Bear. Kristina

I am going to tell you about the symbol of Russia - the Brown Bear. It is a very large animal with its weight reaching 780 kg. The habitat of The Brown Bear is located in northern Eurasia and North America. It lives in the forest and can climb on the pretty high trees. The Brown Bear is a carnivorous type of an animal and is the largest land-based predator. Nevertheless, it feeds on a variety of plant and berries as well as fish, meat and insects. As you know from the cartoon "Vinny the Pooh", bears like to consume some sweet honey, it is a very exotic thing in their diet.
The Brown Bear is an agressive and dangerous animal, especailly when you wake it up accidentally in winter when it hibernates. In summer, they try to find a pair for reproduction. The male individuals fight a lot in order to obtain better partner. In Russia nearby the small towns in the contryside, the Brown Bears contact with humans frequently, by steeling or destroying goods from courtyards or browsing for something to eat in the rubbish bins. There is a formed association in the world, that bears walk on the street in Russia and I can tell you, with no doubts, that it is wrong :) Only in a small isolated village in woods bear can walk on the road, because it is so hungry in winter and pretty smart as well to steel something from human.
Cheers.
*the first image says " Go ahead Russia! ". It is a chant of Russian football fans*

Emily - Korean tiger

I am going to talk about Korean Tiger, which has a special meaning for Koreans. Traditionally, Koreans think that the tiger is the symbol of our country because it is thought to be one of the bravest animals and we have plenty of old legends about them as a result. Also, another reasonable feature of the Korean tiger is that Koreans have been describing the shape of the Korea territory as a tiger, which means that our country shape in a map looks like a tiger sitting on the ground.

The tiger of habit is almost similar to other type of tigers. They are aggressive, carnivore and predator. Their natural habitat is deep in the mountain. They are not quite as fast as cheetahs, but they are better off hunting than them. Interestingly, they have a special pattern on head so this makes it easy to distinguish from other tigers. Moreover, it has been reported they are much smarter and quicker than other tigers even though the tigers are slightly slimmer and smaller.

Unfortunately, most Koreans have never seen them since 1970’s due to the over hunting. Some experts had been looking for them for ages because of protecting and researches, but they formally announced that the Korean tigers are extinct in South Korea. There are a few Korean tigers in North Korea believe it or not, but they are also rare and endangered so they need to be protected there as well.

The Yangtze River dolphin - Jin

The Yangtze river dolphin, whose name originated from its natural habitat, was also calledthe panda in  river ”on account of its rarity. It was a mammal and had a stocky body about two meters long. Addition to this, it had tiny eyes and reasonable eyesight. As a very shy animal, it was difficult to approach.
In 1975, the Yangtze river dolphin was declared a “National Treasure”. As a result, China government set up nature reserve to protect it. Unfortunately, this had little success because of heavy boat traffic, fishing and industrial pollution. In the year of 2007,organizers declared the Yangtze river dolphin extinct , which would make it the first aquatic mammal species to become extinct.

An elephant - Thailand

By and large, elephant is an enormous mammal that is represented as the largest terrestrial animal in the world. Nowadays, they are wildlife protection and endangered. Looking back, the elephant was a respectable animal since ancient times. It used to utilize during in the war as a command position for the Siam king and it was represented as king’s animal.  At that time, the great number of them lived in the wild and sparsely in community. However, it is regrettable that most original habitat is being destroyed and over- hunting by human this directly reflects to the population of them and because of breeding once a year, the chance of survival is reduced also the majority of them are being hunted by the hunter just because their ivories and trade them to the black-markets.

Forbidden City In Hue - Vietnam

Hue ancient was chosen as the capital of the country by Lord Nguyen. For nearly four centuries, Hue has become a monument of architecture and great scenery, the overall monument has been recognized by UNESCO as world cultural heritage.

White-headed langur - In Vietnam

Recently, White-headed langur is one of five species of primates are threatened with extinction at a global level. They only live in Cat Ba sanctuary, Vietnam and they are really rare because of hunting so its quite hard to see them. There are just 64 individuals which still survive.

A mature male has pale white fur on the head and shoulders and darker fur for female. They also have a long black tail. It is a herbivore, their food are leaves, fruits and nuts. They live in forest and vines which grow on the cliff at an altitude which are 100-150 m below sea level.

The black bear (Lee,Namgwon)

The Black bear
The Black bear is kinds of the bears. The natural habitat of them, as other bears, is in mountain. The most noticeable feature, compared to them, is that the black bear has a half-moon marking on the middle of chest. As you know, the most of the bears are an omnivore so it is also this kind of feeding characteristic. The black beer, however, is close to herbivore, owing to this fact that they prefer to eat and collect fruits in mountain. In addition, they trend to hibernate and breed babies and usually have 2 or 3 of them. Nowadays, we often cannot see this mammal in their haunt because they have been haunted to have their leather. As a result of this, the number of them has been going down and the government declared endangered species. Unfortunately, we can watch them in the zoo or the nature reserve.

Foxes in Russia. Sergey.

I'm spending to tell you about the fox, because it is common in many parts of Russia. You can meet it in forests, which is widely spread through whole Russia. The fox is a rather small animal with orange fur and it has the most noticeable feature - white end of tail. This makes it very easy to distinguish fox from other animals.
The fox is carnivore animal, it's eat mouses and birds. Sometimes foxes can catch a chicken or other animal from villages, so it's cheeky. Also, it's very smart and crafty animal. There is expression 'Crafty as a fox', which describes person as a very foxy.

Yuta the animal in Japan

I’m going to describe about the crow in Japan. Their features are that its body is all black including wings, eyes, feet, everything!! Because of this, their image is very bad in Japan. Besides, there is a legend of them in Japan. People who were living there have handed down they are the messenger of horrible god, so when the crow cry, people felt really scarily because people thought they are sending message to bad god. Regarding these days in Japan, these birds make a lot of serious problem about our lives. Firstly, they are very clever, so they do not fear the people and sometimes they approach people and scare them. Secondly, the craws make dirty our country because they usually eat our garbage and use our rubbish to make their nests as well. Therefore, they search for some staffs at a dumping ground. Consequently,  they are thought very bad bird in Japan.
